About This Course.

Our learning path Data Hero Scout is for all those who want more—more orchestration, deeper insights and improved administration and configuration knowledge. It strives to take your data integration skills to the next level! Once you’ve successfully completed the Data Hero Starter course, you’re ready to advance to the next level: Data Hero Scout.

This course is delivered by an experienced trainer and consultant—either remotely (4 sessions of 5 hours via Microsoft Teams) or on-site (3 days at Lobster HQ on the beautiful shores of Lake Starnberg).

Please note: All Lobster Academy eLearnings are designed with a practical-thinking approach. To learn and understand our software, you will need to follow the detailed instructions as you would in a workshop or real class. These will lead you step-by-step to a deeper understanding of the Lobster Data Platform. To do so, you will need access to a Lobster Data Platform system. As an existing customer, you will have access to a system. You can also go through one of our partners if you have an existing relationship. If neither of these options is available to you, please check in with our sales team.

Description.

The Lobster Data Platform offers countless possibilities for data integration. But for comprehensive mastery, you’ll also need a solid understanding of data orchestration. Step by step, an experienced trainer will guide you through the data jungle.

By the end of this course, you’ll have refreshed and expanded your theoretical knowledge through a series of practical exercises. You’ll clearly see why integration and orchestration fit together perfectly, just like gears in a well-oiled machine.

The Data Hero Scout takes you ever deeper into the worlds of integration and orchestration. Equipped with foundational knowledge from Data Hero Starter, you’re now ready to independently design processes, manage your own system settings, and efficiently handle your data—both on the surface and deep inside the server.

Topics.

Module 01 – Creating Custom Entities and Input Forms
Building a 1:n entity and examining the input forms automatically generated by the system.
Objective: Participants learn how to design and build more complex entities based on a database schema.
Module 02 – Importing Data from a Database into an Entity
Master data and transactional data are imported from a database into the newly created entities.
Objective: Participants learn how to use a profile to read data via SQL and write it into the entities of the Orchestration Module.
Module 03 – Editing Input Forms
The system-generated input form for order data is replaced with a custom design.
Objective: This module teaches how to analyze visually complex layouts and implement them within the Orchestration Module.
Module 04 – Configuring Data Export
Data that has been modified or entered using the created input forms is written back to the database.
Objective: Participants will be able to read data from an entity and write data back into a SQL database.
Module 05 – HTTP API Query to a Database
Currency exchange rate data is retrieved and processed from an external web service.
Objective: Participants learn how to implement external HTTP API calls within a profile.
Module 06 – Providing Product Data via REST API
The Lobster Data Platform provides a web service that can be accessed by customers and partners to retrieve data.
Objective: This module provides the know-how to set up and offer custom web services.
