Change locale

The Change locale function is available via the ‘Settings’ menu item for the User menu in the Top bar (see Working with the graphical user interface), provided that the Role of session has the relevant authorisation (Administration/Accounts/Profile/Change locale) and at least one of the supported languages can be selected in the context of the current session.

NOTEChange locale modifies the ‘Locale’ (locale) field for the User of session, which requires updating (see Common action event) the relevant account.

In principle, only languages that are created in the Locale enumeration and also qualified as a supported language on the other can be selected.

Which 'supported locales' are eligible in a specific session may depend on the Enumeration filters for this enumeration and assigned Association criteria.

NOTE◄ If no Locale can be selected, the Change locale menu item in the context menu is omitted, as is the case if there is no authorisation. In this case, the language assigned to the User of session cannot be changed from within the session.

When selecting a Locale via the context menu, a message like the following appears (already in the selected language):

IMPORTANT◄ The localisation may change immediately for many views that are already open. However, only newly opened views reliably show all localisations for the selected Locale.
