Overview

The 'Document' entity can be used to upload file content to Lobster Data Platform / Orchestration and assign it to existing data objects.

The following functions of the 'Document' module are described in the linked sections:

• Importing documents (interactive) or Importing documents via Lobster_data

• Barcode detection (option for image and PDF files) for automatic referencing based on detected barcodes

• Assigning documents by resolving references to data objects

• Access to document content via Lobster_data by the filter Lobster_pro: get document content (_data function)

• Indication of documents in a column 'Assigned documents' in overviews for data objects

The 'Documents' menu item opens a view combining an overview with a details section, to provide general interactive access to document objects and the describe functions:

An interactive document import to link to a certain data object can also be triggered from a view for the respective entity. The ribbon command 'Document' (see Ribbonmakroübersicht or Verfügbare Befehle) opens a details view for 'Documents' in a modal window for this purpose.

When Importing documents via Lobster_data all relevant options for referencing and (optionally) Detected barcodes must be provided by a profile together with the document content itself.
