Triggering events
The 'Triggering events' defined as part of the configuration of an event handler, determine when it will be executed. Triggering events can be picked from predefined lists per category (see below) or custom definitions per dynamic enum (Custom action event).
Predefined events 'fire' automatically, as a result of certain processes or conditions in the system. Two simple examples of common events are 'Create' and 'Delete' which are valid for all types of data objects (see Common action event).
In contrast, an Custom action event requires at least one of the following explicit configurations to be triggered (or 'dispatched'): (Event action, Form behaviour, Ribbon macro command, Import profile).
►NOTE◄ At the runtime of an event handler, the event that triggered it can be determined by the Triggering event resolver.
Symbolization
Depending on Lobster Data Platform / Orchestration modules licensed or installed, events can be picked from the following categories:
These categories correspond with the context menu items in event handling configuration.
