Entity templates

Entity templates are copies of business objects that can be reused. See Working with templates.

The screenshot shows the dialog for managing templates.

(1) New, Delete, Cancel, Copy, Save: Templates can be stored in the database.

(2) Name: The name of the template.

(3) Type: The class name of the business object for which the template is to be used.

►NOTE◄ When creating a template using the ribbon action, this value is filled in automatically. A wrong value in this field causes an error.

(4) Context: The ribbon actions for templates can be defined multiple times for different contexts. Only templates with the same context as defined in the ribbon macro are used.

(5) Company wide: All templates are used via the owner, which either correspond to the company with which the user is logged in or for which permissions (template read rights) are available for this company.

(6) Content: A copy of the business object as XML (The format of the XML corresponds to the format when displayed in the export tab.)

(7) Creator: When selecting templates, the templates created by the logged-in user are displayed, plus the company-wide templates.
