Companies/Clients
The Companies/Clients menu item can be found in the Hauptmenü via the 'Administration/Accounts' menu node, provided sufficient permissions are available.
By default (see Custom overviews), an overview for the ‘Company account’ (CompanyAccount) entity type is opened.

Access to Companies/Clients is controlled by the permissions for the ‘Administration/Accounts/Company accounts’ (Administration/Accounts/Company accounts) node.
Menu items for Companies/Clients only appear if the permission for 'Show' (show) is available in Firmen.
Access to Companies/Clients is generally subject to owner restrictions for the Company of session.
Permissions for the Role of session are therefore only effective for companies for which the Company of session is the owner or recipient of corresponding Company authorizations.
Companies/Clients are an important basis for access control within the Lobster Data Platform. In the context of Lobster Data Platform / Integration, the term ‘client’ is commonly used, while in the context of Lobster Data Platform / Orchestration, the term 'company' or ‘company account’ is used.
In general, Lobster Data Platform / Orchestration takes into account the Company of session selected or automatically assigned at login or claimed in the context of Event handling (see Run as) for controlling access for most entity types.
Users must always be linked to at least one ‘company account’. Guest users must be linked to exactly one ‘company account’.
If 'owner restrictions' (see Roles) are relevant at all for the Role of session and the entity type in question, it depends on the Company of session whether permissions for the Role of session are applicable to a specific entity.
Companies/Clients can use Company authorizations to share permissions for entities for which they are the owner with other Companies/Clients.
There can also be a direct or indirect hierarchical relationship between Companies/Clients, which can also be used to define Company authorizations.
A multiple selection for direct ‘parent companies’ (parentCompanies) in the company account creates the technical basis for setting up such company hierarchies.
For entity types to which the Multiple owners extension applies, several Companies/Clients can be named by reference as (co-)owners of an entity at the same time.
Companies/Clients and company hierarchies can also be used in Association criteria (e.g. per Company rule or Company type rule) to control access to and the appearance of configurations in the context of a session.
►NOTE◄ The data model for Companies/Clients refers to Enumerations such as Company type and Company meta type, which can be used as qualifying characteristics for the definition of such rules.
