The menu item 'Tracking state' opens a combined overview for maintaining master data for defining tracking states to assign to business objects or their line items.
The main category 'Common' in the ribbon features general buttons for Details (New, Delete, Cancel, Copy, Save) and controlling the List (Clear, Search).
The data grid lists all tracking state configurations that have read access for the current session. The Label and Icon uri columns of the grid serve as a preview for the representation of the tracking state.
The Details area above the list provides elements specifying details for specific tracking states (selected in the datagrid or added by New or Copy):
By default, the Owner of a tracking state is defined as the company of the session. Other companies can be assigned as the owner by a selection from the dropdown, as far as permitted.
The values for Mode, State and Reason are components of a combined key value to identify a tracking state. Mode and State must be filled in as required fields, however Reason is optional.
The Label field is defined as read-only and indicates the applicable localization for the combination of Mode, State and Reason, if any. This localization can be defined by Localization or Company specific localization for the Resource bundle 'trackingStatus'. The concatenation of the key value components in the format '{Modus}|{Status}|{Grund}' serves as a Resource name. This concatenation also appears as a label for a tracking state without localization.
The Icon uri field can be used to assign an icon to symbolize the tracking state, either by direct input or selection (by the Select button) of a link to an icon available from the client (see Working with image resources (Icons) for more details). An assigned icon is represented below the field.
The Color field defines a hexadecimal value for the background color of tracking state labels, that can be determined directly or by color picker by clicking on the field. The text color for Label is defined automatically as white or black depending on the choice of background color. The effective combination is assigned to the Color field as a preview.
