Settings (rule)

Does rule match?

Whether a rule is responsible for an incoming file is (among other things) determined by the virtual file type (2) and the file name pattern (3). In general, the rule is only considered for files sent by partners set in (7) and (8).

Settings

(1) Base file name: The file name that a file accepted by this rule gets instead of its original name. See also (5). Note: Does not apply to data type Image/Raw. Example: "F<yyyy><MM><dd><hh><mmm><ss>.<n>".

(2) File type: An incoming file must have this virtual file type for this rule to apply. See section "MFT" on how it works.

(3) File pattern: The name of an incoming file must match this pattern for this rule to apply. See section "MFT" on how it works.

(4) Encoding: The file is read in with this character encoding. See also section Detection (rule).

(5) Number range: Further dialogue for managing the number range placeholder <n> for this rule. See corresponding section below. See also (1).

(6) Replace chars: Further dialogue for defining characters to be replaced in the input file. See corresponding section below.

(7) Rule is valid for all partners: If this checkbox is set, this rule applies to all (sending) partners. Otherwise, see (8).

(8) Arrows in the middle: Use the arrows to move marked partners. The rule is visible to the (sending) partners on the right. See also (7).

Number range

(9) Start value: The start value for the placeholder <n> in this rule. Note: See also (1) and (5).

(10) Maximum value: If the current value (11) reaches the maximum value in this rule, the placeholder <n> gets the start value (9) again.

(11) Current value: The current value for the placeholder <n> in this rule. See also (10).
