Client configuration (MFT client)
You can only use this area as administrator!
Here you will find an overview of all clients of the MFT client. You can use the context menu to create new clients and edit and delete existing ones. The counterpart on an MFT server is a partner.
Tab "Client"
The origin of the clients are the partners on the MFT server. Partners are always created first. The counterpart on the MFT client side is a client. You always obtain the necessary data (name, password) for configuring a client from the administrator of the MFT server.
At least one client (and matching partner) must be created and must be active, otherwise no communication between server and client is possible!
For successful communication, further settings must be made under certain conditions. More about this in section "Files configuration" below.
Settings
(1) Name: The name of the client. Use the partner name that you received from the administrator of the MFT server.
(2) Description: Any description.
(3) Password: The password of the client. Use the partner password that you received from the administrator of the MFT server.
(4) Is active: Only active clients can send and receive data! The corresponding partner on the MFT server must also be active!
Tab "Files configuration"
Important note: After changing the settings, the Apply button must be clicked. After that, you also have to save the settings in tab Client. Only then will changes take effect!
Settings
(5) File type: Settings can be made here for each file type visible to the client. Important note: Please note that if you have more than one file type, you must specify distinct output directories, see (7). Please take a look at the basic mechanisms in the introduction.
Sub tab "Input"
(6) Directory: This directory is used for incoming files for this client and this file type. Note: The default directory can be set in the General Settings area.
Sub tab "Output"
(7) Directories: These directories are scanned to find outgoing files. There must be at least one directory. Important note: Make sure that the directories are unique for each client/file type, see the explanations in the introduction. Note: The default directory can be set in the General Settings area. Note: See also items (9)-(12).
Sub tab "Backup"
(8) Directory: If a file was successfully sent to the MFT server, it is stored in the archive directory, otherwise in the error directory. Note: You can set the respective default directory in area General settings.
Sub tab "Settings"
(9) Scan time from to: Specifies the time frame during which the client scans for files to send.
(10) Interval: Specifies the scanning interval. 5 means that every 5 minutes the system searches for files (in the output directory) to send. You can set the default value for new clients in area General Settings. Note: The timer is reset after saving the client and when the MFT client has been restarted. After a reset, all files are picked up within one minute. After that, the set value applies.
(11) Priority: Priority 1 is high, 9 is low.
(12) File suffix for sending: Only files with the specified file extension are sent. Regular expressions are marked with (;), for example ;[A0-9].*
