Partners
The function of the Partner Administration is the definition and administration of communication channels (we also call them channels or partner channels) and their assignment to the communication partners (partners).
The goal is to centrally manage your partners' communication parameters.

Once defined in the Partner Administration, partners and their partner channels are available wherever communication with partners takes place.
Changes to a partner channel made in the Partner Administration have an immediate effect on all profiles that use this partner channel.
Wherever a channel is selected (e.g. in a profile's Response), fields filled with data coming from the channel are colour coded. It is possible to overwrite such fields. In that case, the value with which the field was overwritten applies. Note: When specifying a port, the following must be observed. A value greater than 0 overwrites the default value of the channel. If no value is entered, the respective default value is used for the port, so a blank field also leads to overwriting the value of a selected channel. Therefore, when selecting a channel, a 0 is automatically entered for the port, thus the channel value is used.
In principle, you do not always have to use partner channels in profiles. However, it is neater and facilitates maintenance of the communication parameters. However, a partner channel is mandatory for the use of the Comm Log and MDNs and the authentication by client certificate.
