Working with templates
You can use templates in the following places. The specific procedure will be explained in the corresponding GUI settings.
Templates for profiles |
Profile templates can be used when creating new profiles to inherit certain basic settings of a profile. See context menu of profile groups. |
Templates for source and target structures |
Manually creating a source or target structure is a very time-consuming process. There are a multitude of possibilities for the automated creation of structures: A complete source or target structure can be created from an external example file, template or schema file. See sub page "Import structure" on page "Main settings" (in profiles) and the source structure menu (→ "Create structure from file analysis") or the target structure menu (→ "Create structure/from file analysis"). For self-created partial templates for structures, see target structure menu (→ "Manage snippets"). For standard formats (e.g. EDIFACT, SAP IDoc, X12) there are already hundreds of 'internal' templates available. See source and target structure menus and section Loading Templates. You can automatically create structures for connected databases (see sections Importing structure via database nodes and Basic SQL (Input Agent cron)), SAP systems and web services. |
Templates to format values in source and target structure fields |
You can specify the format in which numbers are displayed (thousands separator, decimal places, etc.), for example. See sections Attributes for Fields (source structure) and Attributes for Fields (target structure). |
Templates for Integration Units |
See sections ODTCreatorUnit, TemplateParserUnit, and XMLTemplateParserUnit, for example. |
