Profile constants
Scope/Lifetime |
Live in the profile (and not in other profiles) during the profile run/test. |
Profile constants (also called "fixed values") are stored in the profile and not in the "Administration" as system constants are. Profile constants are only valid in the respective profile.
In addition, profile constants do only have a value and, unlike system constants, no identifier.
You can use profile constants in parameter fields of functions (phase 3). Important note: If a profile constant is changed in the following dialogue, this change is also applied to all parameter fields of functions in which the profile constant is used.
Note: These fixed values here are not to be confused with "fix values" in target structure fields, which only serve as a value for a specific target structure field.
Note: When profiles are transported (manually or with the Transport Manager), profile constants are transported to the target system with them.
