Supplied Standard Templates

Lobster_data contains a very large number of source and target structure templates. These are readily usable structures that you can easily load into a profile, i.e. they do not have to be created using external sample files or external systems.

The following number of templates are available.

BWA

4 templates.

CSV

2 templates.

Cargo-Imp

77 templates.

EDIFACT

9137 templates (all EDIFACT documents from 1995).

Fixed Length

20 Fortras/VDA templates.

SAP IDoc

2845 templates each for source and target structure (from system releases 46C, 700 and 750). These templates are only for fixed-length IDocs. XML IDocs are treated like normal XML files in Lobster_data. Note: You can also get templates directly from an SAP system. See section Loading Templates from SAP.

X12

921 templates.

XML

2 templates.

These standard templates are available as files with the extension .tree in directories below ./datawizard/templates. Each document type (CSV, XML, Fixed Length, EDIFACT, SAP IDoc, etc.) has a corresponding directory. The templates are available for both the source and the target structure.

The user can also modify these templates and save them as a new template, which is then assigned to the respective client (see section below). This way, completely new templates can be created by the user.

Often, source structures are similar to each other if an in-house format is used to produce output data for different partners. In this case, the source structure for the in-house format is created once and saved as a template. After that, the user can read in the template as often as desired, change it if necessary and use it in the profile. The same applies to frequently used target structures.

Client-specific Own Templates

If one of the templates described above is saved, it will be saved (with a freely assignable name) in the directory ./datawizard/settings/<client ID>/input for source structures and in directory ./datawizard/settings/<client ID>/output for target structures. Note: When exporting target structures, the functions and variables are also exported.
