Checkpoints
Lobster_data can send emails if a profile has not been started within a certain period of time. If a profile starts without input data, that does not count as a profile start. By profile start, we mean the starting time of a job, not the arrival time of the data. Both times may differ significantly due to queuing.
Important note: On a test system, control points have no effect.
(1) The access data for the SMTP server to be used.
(2) Subject, sender, receiver and message text.
Definition Via Duration
If the profile does not receive any data, starting from the defined checkpoint time until the end of the duration, an email will be sent. You can define overlapping intervals. Note: Entries with duration 0 are no longer possible. Old entries of this kind (till version 3.5.4) still work.
Example: Assume a checkpoint entry for Monday at 08:00 and a duration of 120 minutes. If the profile does not receive data between Monday, 08:00 and Monday, 10:00, an email will be sent.
Important note: If a checkpoint is defined for 20:00 with a duration of 30 minutes and the system is restarted at 20:15 or the profile is saved again, the system behaves as if no job had been started if in fact a job was started between 20:00 and 20:15 clock.
Checkpoint Entry at Restart
At a restart, you can set, whether a checkpoint entry should be made or not. See section Restart Dialogue.
