One of the most important directories during ongoing operations. Although it is empty right after the installation, over time individual components of the server will generate subdirectories in which a number of log files are created.

In addition to log data, other data from other services is also stored in this directory. Following a brief overview, a detailed description of the functionality can be found in the documentation of the respective service.
