Germany’s leading supplier of tyres, wheels and care servicing, point S, had decided to make the switch from individual to bundled procurement via a purchasing centre. Manual data entry practices also needed automating along the entire purchasing chain from article selection to invoicing.

Once armed with Lobster_data, the Lobster middleware for data integration, point S was soon able draw on a whole host of in-house advantages and benefits for its service centres. Now, communication between the company’s own ERP, external systems and the online retailer-supplier platform is format independent. Large data volumes can reliably be processed in real time even during the industry’s typical seasonal peaks in spring and autumn.

Lobster’s no-code technology also helped point S empower its non-IT employees by incorporating them in the procurement process, which has – in turn – significantly expanded the company’s pool of expertise. Additional benefits of the new, digitalised processes include fewer errors and rapid response times, while the reduced personnel requirements (5 rather than 25 employees) have freed up availability for other tasks.
